EXTREME ROBOTICS: BATTLEBOTS - Tech AcademyYouth EnrichmentThis camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO® building systems versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®). Working in teams, students will construct fun LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Solar cooking bypasses traditional cooking means. No electricity, gas, charcoal, or wood needed for solar cooking. Students will learn how to cook meals, dry food for preservation and purify water all with the sun. Designed by the experts at MIT, this unique system teaches children about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Young imaginations soar! The LEGO® Education Robotics Builder class allows students to explore different concepts in robotics. Tiger Chess ClubYouth EnrichmentTiger Chess Club is an introductory opportunity designed to gauge student interest in a school-based chess club. This “feeler” session will bring together students who are curious about chess, enjoy strategic thinking, or want to learn the game in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The club will be led by a volunteer parent who will serve as a facilitator and coach. While this is not a competitive or advanced program, the instructor has experience working with young chess players and will guide students through basic strategies, game play, and skill development. The focus will be on learning, practicing, and enjoying the game while building confidence and sportsmanship. The ultimate goal of Tiger Chess Club is to connect students who share an interest in chess, allow them time to play and grow together, and explore future possibilities, such as expanding the club, increasing instructional opportunities, or offering more structured play, based on student interest.Spring/Summer 2026 -
