3rd - 6th BasketballYouth RecreationBasketball Season Plan: Grades 3–6 Belle Plaine Basketball Association, Community Education, and BPHS Varsity Basketball coaches are excited to return to a basketball structure that has worked well for our Belle Plaine families in the past. This plan supports both competitive and recreational play options through a partnership between Belle Plaine Basketball Association (BPBA) and Community Education. Return to a Proven Model All basketball players in grades 3–6, grouped by grade and gender, will participate in the Waconia League, which is operated through Community Education. This provides consistent league play for all students regardless of their skill level. For those who try out and make a BPBA team, additional tournament play will be included through the association. An additional fee will be added to cover these tournament costs. Registration & Commitment All players must submit a $50 down payment through the Community Education ARUX system at isd716.arux.app. This deposit confirms your child’s intent to participate in basketball—whether that’s with BPBA, Community Ed, or both. Players who participate only in Community Education and the Waconia League will pay an additional $25 fee later. Players who participate in BPBA will play in tournaments and pay an additional fee later. Evaluations & Team Placement The registration deadline is September 13, which is also the first day of tryouts. Tryouts (Evaluations) are required for 4th–6th graders who wish to be considered for a BPBA team. 4th graders will for sure get to play BPBA if they choose, there are not cuts at this level 3rd do not participate in tryouts but must still register by the September 13 deadline Families may choose to opt out of tryouts and indicate a preference for Community Education-only basketball. Keep in mind that team placement is not parent- or player-selected. Players who try out will be evaluated and placed accordingly: If selected, they will join a BPBA team and still play in the Waconia League through Comm Ed. If not selected, they will participate only in the Community Education league, but these teams will include both Comm Ed and BPBA players intermixed equally. Please email me if you have any questions @ dkoller@belleplaine.k12.mn.us Sign up ASAP to ensure your child will be able to play this season, we will not be allowing late registrations.Fall 2025
